Instructors Jessica Couto and Jordan Miller have a combined professional experience of over 15 years spanning multiple facets of the performing arts including musicals, plays, opera, film, television, stunts, and even the occasional theme park and cruise ship. Their credits range from such companies as the Los Angeles Opera, Bally's Hotel and Casino, Excalibur Hotel and Casino, Hollywood Theatre at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, Holland America Line Cruiselines, Disney and Cypress Gardens theme parks, regional touring companies such as the Prather Family of Theatres, regional theaters such Fulton Opera House (Lancaster, PA), Casa Manana Theater (Fort Worth, TX), Lincoln Amphitheater (Evanston, IN), Fullerton Civic Light Opera (Fullerton, CA), Hunterton Hills Playhouse (Hunterton, NJ), and numerous San Diego theaters includng The Old Globe, Lyric Opera San Diego, Moonlight Theater, Lamb's Players Theater, Starlight Theater and Cygnet Theater.
Both have degrees in music and acting from distinguished universities and conservatories, and continue to hone their skills and expertise beyond their collegiate education privately from singers on the Metropolitan Opera roster, from Broadway veterans, and from acting coaches and directors in Hollywood. As such, they have discovered in their experience that the most beneficial training comes from personal instruction from working professionals currently in the business. This allows for a relaxed and intimate learning environment that fosters the fastest and most effective growth regardless of the student's skill level.
"Talent" is merely a capacity to learn. There are numerous accounts of professionals who entered the arts from all walks of life and from all manner of backgrounds in a variety of ages and experience who found success in the industry. We also encourage those merely wanting to enrich their lives with a better command and facility of the arts. And while we understand the overbearing demands of time restraints with regards to auditions, rehearsal process, performance longevity, and the hustle and bustle of booking the next job, we also strongly believe that there is no decisive or pre-determined timeline to success or mastery of the arts, and that the success of an artistic career depends upon a lifelong study.
